Kirk Douglas is a name many of us are all familiar with. Mostly for those who grew up watching his movies.
The actor’s career spans across decades while his talents stretch to a producer, director, and author with ten novels and memoirs accoladed to his name.
After 64 years of being happily married, Kirk Douglas and his wife are still inseparable.
The pair, who have a combined age of 200, was spotted enjoying a day out in Los Angeles.
Douglas, 101, and his wife Anne Buydens, 99, were being pushed along in wheelchairs by their carers.
Hollywood star Douglas has been married to the former actress and producer since 1954, a year before he starred in the film Lust for Life as the artist Vincent van G.
Anne is Kirk’s second wife – following a divorce from Diana Dill she was the mother of Kirk’s two children – actor Michael Douglas and producer Joel.
In 1951 Anne and Kirk tied the knot after meeting with her while acting for Lust for Life which Anne was producing.
The Spartacus actor will turn 102 on in December but continues to remain active, as his son Michael Douglas reveals that his father does in fact exercise with a personal trainer.
The 73-year-old actor claims: ‘He still has a trainer. He works out with a trainer at 101, I remember when Dad was 90 and he had a guy that he worked out with for more than 30 years, 40 years, Mike Abrams.
Following a stroke in 1996, Kirk went on to write about his experience in his book “My Stroke of Luck” in order to help others. On occasion, he even writes where he is believed to be the oldest celebrity blogger in the world.
Kirk and Anne are rarely seen apart and are said to be already planning a celebration for Kirk’s 102nd birthday in December.
It’s so wonderful to see a celebrity couple stand the test of time and look so happy together after all these years.
