Homeless boy is abused, beaten and robbed: Ed Sheeran then comes to his rescue

Children are often affected by horrors and injustices that take place in the world.

The main problem why people don’t intervene is because they are so far removed from their every day lives nothing else seems to matter.

Ed Sheeran simply move on with his life without taking action when he saw the life that homeless boys were exposed to in Liberia.

A little boy named JD and several of his friends who had been raped and beaten many times ended up being saved as a result.

It hit Ed Sheeran hard when he saw what conditions were like in Liberia.

He decided to be part of a documentary depicting how common it is for little homeless boys to be raped and abused simply because there are no adults to protect them, for the organization Comic Relief.

A child named JD moved Sheeran to tears with his life story he became especially close to him.

JD retains a sense of joy and secretly dreams of becoming president one day despite the fact he’d been raped, robbed and abused by older children.

Even when the cameras had stopped rolling Ed upheld his promise to save JD and his friends from their terrible lives.

Initially, Sheeran wanted to ensure the kids moved from the slum.

Ed explains: “My natural instinct is to just put them in a car and just take them and just put them in a hotel until we can get them sorted.”

Then the thought struck home: “Can we do that? Can I pay to put them in a house until we get them in a school?”

Sheeran purchased a house in Liberia’s capital not long after making the promise.

There, the five boys were safe from the slums and they Ma who would look after them.

The next goal for Ed was to help them move forward with their lives, so he made sure each child was placed in a school to get an education where eventually they would have a better shot at realizing their dreams.

The boys, are now safe from their nightmares and have a better life after suffering the beating and rape. They have a promising future ahead of them.

JD explains “I’m very glad that I will start school soon. I want to be president, so I have to study hard. When I’m president I’ll help the other children.”
